Donald Trump has symptoms consistent with end stage dementia. That’s just the obvious truth. Even after a weekend in which he appeared to claim that 9/11 happened a year ago and that he warned Pete Hegseth about it in advance, the media still doesn’t want to acknowledge what’s happening. But even as the media continues to pretend Trump doesn’t have dementia, Trump himself keeps unwittingly educating the public on the fact that he does have dementia – and he just gave something away.

Yesterday Trump met with reporters for yet another “proof of life” session, but all it did was prove that Trump doesn’t know where he’s at or what’s going on. He spent the session randomly whining about how his teleprompter didn’t work during his United Nations speech. Then Trump made the incredible claim that because his teleprompter wasn’t working, no one in the room could hear what he was saying. No really, he said that.

Trump is now giving away that he’s so far gone, he literally doesn’t know what a teleprompter is anymore. His babysitters presumably told him that the teleprompter failure kept anyone in the room from hearing him, as a way of soothing him after he got such a muted reaction from the room. And Trump believed it. He actually believed the notion that if you’re giving a speech and the words stop appearing on the screen in front of you, but you keep talking, it means no one will be able to hear you.

No mentally or cognitively competent person could possibly entertain a thought like this. Trump knows what a teleprompter is better than anyone. He also knows what a sound system is. Or at least he used to. These days he doesn’t know what anything is – and he can also be convinced of anything.

He’s had unambiguous signs of fronto-temporal dementia for a long time. My siblings and I have had to deal with it when our Dad had it, so we know the signs.

A very good indication is remembering stuff from the past better than stuff from yesterday. And that’s why Trump spoke of Leningrad two months ago. When my brother heard that, he immediately said “Uh uh… Grandpa is gonna start dribbling soon…”.

Soon he’ll start accusing his staff of stealing his keys and setting the thermostat to inappropriate temperatures

Glad he can’t just get a replacement for this like Cheney did with his heart transplant.

Yeah honestly, as heinous as orangeboi is, I’m… deeply, deeply concerned about what a Vance admin would look like and do. Because as much as he is an absolute shitgoblin, he has his mental faculties more or less intact, and he is very much drinking the kool aid.

The cult falls apart after the leader dies. It’s like 99% of the time. Can they keep it together? I doubt it.

“Cult of Personality”, it’s a thing.

I don’t know why people keep making this argument. We’re talking about republicans here. These people love Marjorie Taylor Green and enjoy Kid Rock. They will always and without fail rally around the biggest piece of shit they can find.

Trump is not special, they just figured out how to successfully brand their useful idiot

I don’t know that that’s gonna work here. Like, I hope the movement shatters… but I’m not sure it will. American politics is deeply, deeply fucking stupid, and has been for a very long while.

The dumbest third of our country likes to think of it like football teams - whose players and coaches may come and go, but at the end of the day, they’re rabid fans of “their guys”. That’s what a lot of Republicans are nowadays. Uncritical, team-based/tribal adherence to dogma. And it’s going to fucking kill us all. I guess there’s some sort of cold solace in knowing it’s gonna kill them, too.

Every trump headline would be more accurate with the word confused before his name. Guy is dim. Every step of the way is a head-scratcher to this man. He’s an idiot. A maroon.

They did the same thing with Reagan when he lost his mind in office for the last 2 years (of 8). Soon, they’ll try to keep trumpy wump locked away, while his underlings take over and run the show. If you start hearing Melania just saying “No” to drugs, to take attention away…
