I think the fact that it involves a dog short-circuits people’s critical thinking, and it also gets people who aren’t very politically aware on-board who normally wouldn’t wade into a political argument (and obviously no normal person is gonna know WTF “Destiny brigade on LivestreamFail” means, let alone be aware of it).
