Don’t get me wrong I have preferential jobs but my dream is to not have a job that doesn’t directly benefit me.

I’m not afraid of hard labor but I’m not gonna do it just to make some rich fuck richer

I’m even willing to make money for the shareholders, if I can travel the world, eat hella food and dress fly.
But noooo, the goal is to suffer for no reason at all.

I’m in temporary leave from my job (that, as far as job goes, I really like) and I really dread going back…

Playing games like I usually do, but getting paid for it.

    “Streaming”

Who’s gonna give money to a streamer that broadcasts at random times for random lengths and bounces between 12 different games each sess? 🤷‍♂️

Have you tried being hot and having your online bio say you’re an “influencer”? Because then it’s easy.

Most people attempting to be influencers aren’t remotely successful, even if they’re hot.

Sure, but if you want to do no work and go on trips all over the world for free, all you gotta do is take a gander at some Instagram “influencers” to see where I’m coming from.

Alternately you can just be born rich. That usually helps.

You can be a travel streamer? Like youre not gonna earn anything cause all the “travel streamers” who are actually just nuisance streamers will take all your viewers but still.

My dream job? Well last night I dreamed I was a teenage magic hobo who traveled the highways on a flying cardboard sheet, hiding from the magic highway patrol in bushes and staying in flop houses with other magic hobos who I just met (I’m not making this up, that was my actual dream)

I just think of how much more fulfilling our life could be if, after school, young people would be offered to make a big trip or live through a big experience they want to gain inspiration, find themselves, and then bring that meaning and insight into their life.

But alas, The Economy needs wage slaves.

Even a “dream job” is just a job that you hate the least. It might even bring some joy here and there, but in the end you’re still on a leash. I tried working, never for long. Then I gave up on that and retired. Like 25yrs ago or so.

But what’s the problem with exactly this answer to this stupid “what is your dream job?”? It’s an honest and good answer. Except maybe in a job-interview 😁

I was lucky to be born at the right time, self-employed directly outta school in the booming IT-market. That and no desire to live large. I’m a simple and horribly cheap ass. So no big secret, just luck and a passion for my hobby at the right time. It was also work, but…different.

I haven’t retired, but I’m going to get there by 50-ish due to living small.

I’m in IT, make good money. All my peers get new flashy cars every 3 years; mine is going on 14 years.

My peers need a 2500sq ft for their family of 3 - we’re comfortable in under 800.

          They’ll be working until they’re 70 at this rate…

Hehe, yeah exactly that. What I observed in the last 40yrs is that the more people earn, the more they spend. Mostly just to show off how not-poor they are to people they don’t really care about. Got a raise of 1000,-? And 1005,- were pushed to “life-style”. Never really got it. If you have what you need, why more?

If I would raise an empty cup in the streets, people would probably throw cash in it :-)

I mean, enjoy life as much as possible, but you don’t need to do that in a poser-car, poser-house or by buying fancy poser-clothes (which still are made with slave-labour). I do spend a lot in my hobbies, i admit that. But I’m not going nuts here and it’s my passion…

To be fair, growing up nowadays and drowning in stupid social media that 24/7 tells you how poor you are, no matter how rich you actually are, probably leaves a mark.

What would the fly even wear? Most outerwear would interfere with their wings.
