The banality of evil shit right here.

A straightup child snatcher thinking that her evil deeds are just a normal job and that being part of the system justifies everything she does to such a degree that she just shamelessly admits it to the very person trying to stop her from doing it.

No shame, no guilt, no consequences, no nothing. Just a normal person abusing others for her own benefit without even thinking that what she is doing is wrong. blob-no-thoughts

they knew how to react because they learn from their encounters from others how goulish their jobs are; but the powers that be engineer it so that they’re only surrounded by like minded fascists to help them ignore the damage that they’re inflicting on peoples lives.

i went to an arizona town hall where they had ins (aka precusor to ice) where i politely confronted them on their behavior and got asked to leave because of it. lol

Getting verbally confrontational is what you can do legally AFAIK without consequences. You can sit there, berate them, call them SS, pieces of shit, etc. and they can either sit there and take the verbal abuse or leave.

I would sooner tell them what I thought and remove myself from the situation. I do that sort of thing for sport with soliciting calls, but you rely on their buy in to be affected by words. It makes it that much more easy for them to entrench themselves with their bullshit “well everyone’s evil at the end of the day.” Maybe you could do longer term pestering until they have to remove themselves from your presence (e.g. asking them to sign petitions, inviting them to protest themselves, putting them in anti-themselves chatrooms) but that’s all pretty low % annoying behavior than it is effectual.

In my mind, and it’s not the impenetrable fortress it’s cracked up to be, the two ways to influence them are the marketplace of ideas ™ and changing the societal superstructure. I pray for the day leftists can hold their ideas lazily and use the kind of bullshit arguments that uphold the status quo. “Well, capitalism means that you put people in concentration camps. Do you want to do that to your neighbor? They baked you cookies!”

did they tell this friend of a friend to their face that they’re a nazi and they see no reason to associate with them?

i get it can be hard but people who do these jobs need to face social consequences. either they’ll reflect on it and look for new work or they’ll just look for nazi friends who tell them they’re actually doing something good. either way normal or moral people shouldn’t be friendly with them. let them see who their company is. especially one so insistent on telling you they’re a democrat. not that any of us here are under any delusion about what that means but your average democrat certainly is and if they’re shown they’re not acting in an empathetic or humanist way they might change what they’re doing. if not out of morality than at least out of not wanting to deal with the social consequences

This is how I feel with every gov contractor “friend” who lies about what they do. I’ve cut off a lot of relationships already.

I don’t think any amount of infographics you post on instagram can even out your active participation in developing the missiles and satellite systems used to commit genocide.

I’ve seen every possible excuse from these ghouls.

This was in a conversation about a defense contractor that was hiring. I was telling people about the Yemeni civil war and how many innocent people had been killed very recently due to US weapons getting sold to genocidal regimes (this was before Oct 7th). Quoted text says “If you start to think about things that way, there’s something unethical about everything you do; that’s just the world we live in.” They’ll really come up with any excuse.

I had a Palestinian-Lebanese friend who works in the industry and lied about the work he did. After calling him out on his lies (“we only do IT for state departments!” While his company’s website gloated about their missiles)

He got extremely defensive. Ended that relationship but man it’s insane how much people will excuse their own actions if it means getting a mediocre salary and 30 days of vacation…

Also: I genuinely want to continue the discussion on this kind of topic. Is there any readings about it? My blood boils thinking about it and I would love to feel like I’m not insane

I tell myself that the main reason I am a socialist is to build a better world - and I mean it. But I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that it’s this kind of shit right here that tells me there is almost nothing - nothing worth saving about the current system - and I want to see it torn the fuck down. Duality of man etc etc.
