Dr King spouted the most innofensive version of “don’t be racist asshole” to the American people and got his ass murked for it, what the fuck is 𝔐𝔯 𝔅𝔢𝔯𝔫𝔞𝔯𝔡 𝔖𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔢𝔯𝔰 on about???

Urban riots are a special form of violence. They are not insurrections. The rioters are not seeking to seize territory or to attain control of institutions. They are mainly intended to shock the white community. … The looting which is their principal feature serves many functions. It enables the most enraged and deprived Negro to take hold of consumer goods with the ease the white man does by using his purse.

Let us say boldly that if the violations of law by the white man in the slums over the years were calculated and compared with the law-breaking of a few days of riots, the hardened criminal would be the white man.

I won’t argue that Dr King was big on it. But he absolutely supported and understood violent protests. The very violent protests that preceded actual, if minor, concessions.

First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

They have a strategy for non-violent protest too. Run em over!

BJJ newbies will sometimes short circuit if you do nothing. While it’s the art of having options B, C, and D, if you don’t actually have a plan A and are waiting for me to make a move you look very silly while I sit on top of you and you just mindlessly wiggle. It’s very King Boomy coded.

It’s intellectually dishonest for Bernie to believe that the other wing hasn’t demonstrated their plan A and how the protest is in response to that. I promise you they have plan A and plan B in their playbook.

And besides, what are we producing, Bernie? An absence of tension? A more productive machine for the entity? A ratchet system for rightward progression?

    Friendly reminder:

Bernie sanders is a liberal zionist.

He is a Palestinian genocide denier, to this very moment.

He has directly given weapons, billions of dollars and constantly engages in covering up brutal fascist crimes of the zionist entity.

Bernie is complicit in many war crimes, not just here, but in Yugoslavia, where bombs and dirty nuclear weapons were used.

Bernie Sanders needs to face the fucking wall.

Okay, I’ll meet you in the middle.

Could we actually have some disciplined non-violent resistance, then, instead of just libs playing dress up with quippy signs?

in my opinion no. there is no non-violent way to have a revolution. you can’t vote them out of power and sitting down while they beat your ass gets you nothing but an ass beating. no pig has ever stopped midway thru a beating and thought “my god, what am i doing?”

im curious what sort of non violent resistance you think might work tho so if you’ve got good suggestions im definitely open to hearing them. nobody wants violence but these mfs are pushing people

i also want to point out, you see extreme violence every day but those in power tell us its “normal”, its normal when homeless people beg for money and when poor people die from not having healthcare. this entire system is a form of violence so it’s not as tho the violence begins at resistance to the system and most people believe in the right to defend themselves

Any meaningful attempt that has any hope of being effective will be forced into violent conflict. They don’t want non-violence, they want sublimate resistance against the bourgeois politics into support for bourgeois politics via ultranationalism. Violence is an inevitable contradiction of the “liberal democracy”.

IMHO disciplined nonviolent resistance requires organization and to be backed up with a credible threat (of violence presumably), neither of which are really present here

I’d be cool with a bloodless revolution… pretty sure the USSR was basically accomplished that way

The way I see it, the First Imperialist War (WWI) was the heart of the Soviet revolution. The Red Army defeated the Imperialist forces in order to make it possible to establish a new social order. Famously a lot of blood.

The liberals tried to prevent the Bolsheviks from coming into power by seizing printing presses and all that. I kinda view that more as a failed soft coup.
