    Ugh no. Please no. We don’t need an app for everything. This is more erosion of privacy when the app tracks your every move.

    Awesome idea, let’s integrate identification, payment and every conceivable piece of information about a person, into a single device. There’s no possible way that’s going to backfire /s

      Yep. I thought just as much about my phone being stolen as I did my passport while traveling on my last trip.

    “Please unlock your phone so I can see your ID”…. “Thank you for unlocking your phone so now I have full access to everything and can bypass all protections”

    Here in Norway we have both ID (though a BankID app) and driver’s license through a driving license app. Not exactly hard to imagine the passport joining them.

    The physical driver’s license isn’t dead, though having ID on your bank card seems to have gone away.
