I can’t wait for the next liberal admin to quietly deport even more citizens to El Salvador while libs gush over the adults being back in the room

How long until they make a deal with the Salvadoran government to have partial territorial control of the prison land so that it’s not actually deportation? Please someone take the lathe away, my thoughts are too dangerous

I worry that “deportation” is more solidly within the Overton window than “indefinitely detained”.

“Deportation” implies that someone is free to live anywhere else. “Indefinitely detained” implies that that person is sitting in a cell somewhere.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday that President Donald Trump is exploring legal pathways to “deport” U.S. citizens to El Salvador, where the administration has already arranged to house deported immigrants in a prison known for its human rights abuses.

Leavitt suggested the effort would be limited to people who have committed major crimes, but Trump has also mentioned the possibility of sending people who commit lesser offenses abroad.

On the one hand I’d say awesome free ticket off the sinking ship. But on the other hand most likely no country is going to take americans so you’d be without citizenship to any country AND probably owe the usa the $5 grand it costs to terminate your citizenship.
