I am in this meme and I REALLY don’t like it. I spend a lot of time thinking how deep of a hole I would need to dig to crawl in and die in it.

Can you kick up the 4d3d3d3?
You can only extend vowels. How would you pronounce DROPPPP? Draw puh puh puh puh?
Exactly.
OKKKKK
Eh… maybe not that one.
Listen, it was 30 years ago, nobody cares. Shut the fuck up!
Probably a healthier way to put it than I do.
“Shut up! You’re an idiot. Just shut up moron.”
Heard from a therapist once that it’s a part of you that’s worried it will happen again. That it needs reassurance, not scolding.
I will try as a strategy next time.
Some times I need to tell the mean me to shut the hell up like I’m an I overworked barista done with a screaming Karen’s shit.
Sometimes if it’s a bad one recently it’s gotten to the point where I’ll be like ‘oh my god shut the FUCK UP’
Get outta my head!
You’re lucky, I would whisper, “kill, kill, kill” under my breath, to explain this to my therapist, I had to preface with “you know, like kill the bad thought”
I don’t think that helped the situation
Iiiiiiit’s grippy sock time!
This works, but can develop into a habit really quickly, and now you’ve got a new verbal tic.
Being embarrassed by things you did in the past is good though, it is a sign you’ve learned and grown. Usually.
But like… repeatedly beating yourself up over it everytime your brain starts to wander on its own and ruining your day is less good.
this is true, and if telling yourself you are better than you used to be is either not helpful or not true, thats def a problem :(
feeling a little embarrased is ok, crippling anxiety not so much!
Not really. If you’ve learned and grown, then there’s no reason to revisit it.
its not necessarily revisiting just because you feel. if you forget history you are more likely to repeat it. it would be far worse if you did things and had no shame at all. embarrassment for things you did is like your brain saying “remember to avoid this situation, we don’t want that again!”
I just tell mine to shut the fuck up.
Whenever a thought like that enters my head I just shake my head and it fades away like an etch-a-sketch
Catherine Hepburn did the same thing.
I just imagine blowing my brains out. Like, no thanks thought, and boom, brains on wall.
It’s remarkably effective. And not weird at all. Right guys?
You know what, I’m going to pick a less troublesome one. Degauss, maybe?
I just “oh shit shit” and sigh multiple times audibly with a highly judging expression on my face haha
Screaming NnnnnnnnnnnOoooooooofuuuuuuuckckkkkkkkk you FUCK YOU!!! and whacking my head frantically with the heel of my hand like im some broken CRT
Who are you and how did you get into my head?
