I have two thoughts about this.

I thought these ads were so condescending as a kid. The fact that people are celebrating their return as a cultural victory is basically bragging that they’re idiots.

The new ad is so lazy and low-effort compared to the old ads. Like, the old ads were terrible but at least they had Jessica Simpson doing a dance on the hood of a car. (edit: let me be clear that I find it extremely depressing that I’m now praising the old ads in any way. Extremely bleak development)
To number 1 it’s so weird to me… Like I just want to ask these people…
you missed the bikini burger lady so much? You even noticed she was gone? Is your life so empty and hollow that watching a classicaly attractive women eat borgor is the best it has?
You could be doing literally anything. Just going into your backyard and making mounds of mud would be a more interesting and engaging activity than caring about the borrrguer ads.

Great example of how marketing (and companies in general) are incredibly duplicitous but also just stupid. The average Superbowl watcher never stopped wanting models eating cheeseburgers. Just because Trump got re-elected doesn’t mean the American electorate is suddenly a bunch of dumb hicks, they always were.

Two things
1.) Just from those two still images it looks like director said “What if we tried to make it look like it was a AI developed commercial, but with humans.” I can’t quite articulate how/why but it looks like a human trying to make what they think a Generative AI tool would make if you said “Make a Carls Jr commercial with a hot babe in it”.
2.) Carl’s Jr. has and always will be D-tier. Not once have i heard anyone say “Let’s go get Carl’s Jr”. It’s always “not there not much around, I guess there’s a Carl’s Jr. here?”
