I shit you not, there’s a good chunk of this country that thinks russia is or was aligned with nazi germany and telling them they were actually allied would blow their mind. It just so happens that person is JDPON Don in this case.

So many western brainworms don’t understand the Soviets, China, Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, India, Brazil, Cuba, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, and a dozen other countries were all part of the Allies. They all contributed troops across several theaters, not to mention resources and weapons. And some of them were fighting the Axis Powers years before France, Great Britain, and the US (China and Ethiopia being prime examples).

It was a collective effort by millions of people to end the war, end the Holocaust, and overthrow fascist governments.

Yep one of my favorite facts about the global reality of the war is the goofy patch the Brazilians made. They said they’d join the war “when snakes smoke” which is like “when pigs fly.” A statement of an impossibility.

Well they joined eventually. And their military patch for the expedition features a snake puffing on a pipe. It’s hilarious.

Our schools all but teach this. The beginning of world war 2 is taught as “Germany and Russia team up to invade and divide Poland” and then they never really explain well that the USSR is a part of the allies. They act like Molotov-Ribbentrop was an alliance and not a “We won’t shoot you. Yet.”

Japan and Germany are “fine”, by the standards of Western hegemonists, because they were defeated, occupied, and effectively vassalised. It’s not hard to explain why America likes its puppet states.

The Unit 731 experiments weren’t anything valuable, either. It was just an excuse to torture people. Like yeah no shit people die when they freeze to death. There wasn’t anything scientific regarding hypothesis, control groups, etc. so most of the data obtained was thrown out.

The same was true with “experiments” done by the Nazis.

Yeah, that’s fair, I just don’t like giving it to him because he arrived at the right conclusion in the worst way possible. He says this while threatening BRICS with trade wars should they move away from the US dollar.

Literally the only perspective he’s coming from is the white ethnofascist angle which is fucking dumb because Putin and modern Russia are not as ethnonationalist as his brain is

It’s still the side that upholds the tradition of the red armies, that paid pensions to old red army soldiers, that upkept memorials to soviet soldiers.

Compare that to what other post-soviet countries like Ukraine have done, tearing it all down and putting up a bunch of tacky Nazi-collaborator bullshit. Russia is still the moral superior to the west.

You don’t have to be a liberal. You don’t have to be like this. You have a chance to learn the actual sequence of historical events that led to 80% of Nazi deaths being at the hands of the USSR and the millions of people that joined it on the Easter . You could learn about all the attempts Stalin made to join forces with UK and France to tackle the fascism problem.

Or, you can continue being a BlueAnon redditor.

Literally the other way around. The west wanted the USSR and Nazi Germany to be mutually destroyed so it could come in, kill off the communist state and do some picking clean of Germany. What happened was Hitler went west first instead of east, probably not the worst move considering as soon as he hit the USSR the western armies would have likely mobilized and invading western Europe would have been more difficult but it’s the not the worst move in a losing strategy kind of thing.

Anyways this is why the US did some lend-lease (not free by the way, USSR paid for that stuff) to attempt to keep the USSR up in the fight longer because they didn’t think they were as strong as they ended up being and wanted them to weaken Hitler for them.

Once the USSR started winning bricks started being shat. The US did not invade Normandy France and open up another front because they finally decided they had to get rid of this guy. They did it and pushed to Germany because they didn’t want the Soviets liberating all of capitalist Europe. They feared this. Many of those countries would have democratically voted for socialism after the actions of their socialist resistance and because of the way things were going before then.

What does the US do after the war? Show they never hated the Nazis. Install them into prominent positions in NATO, Western German government, etc. Bring them over to the US via paperclip. They launch Gladio, sponsor a military coup in Greece to kill leftists and communists, suppress communist and socialist movements for decades in those countries the US “liberated”.

M-R was after the publication of Mein Kampf. Hitler had been openly saying he planned to murder the soviets - all of them - for years by the time of the pact. Why, do you think, were the Soviets willing to sign it anyway? Why wasn’t there an anti-nazi alliance at the time of M-R? Who else signed treaties with the Nazis and in what order? There’s some fascinating history in the lead up to WWII but you have to be willing to actually look into it rather than just looking for excuses to trash talk the USSR.

Hakim isn’t wrong but he has a pretty snooty tone and I always think about how that and his Lenin-face avatar are gonna turn any lib away before he even really gets into his point. I wonder if there’s a better video talking about this subject to share with people who are politically misguided and/or unaware.

Ok Nevilve ‘The appeaser’ Chamberlain. please read more about the pre war years, the spanish civil war, the bavarian soviet republic etc, before attempting to debate this topic with any authority

Stalin’s Failed Alliance The Struggle for Collective Security, 1936–1939

          https://utppublishing.com/doi/book/10.3138/9781487553470#%3A~%3Atext=In+the+spring+of+1936%2Cstop+Nazi+aggression+in+Europe.

In he spring of 1936, the Soviet effort to build an anti-Nazi alliance was failing. Stalin continued nevertheless to support diplomatic efforts to stop Nazi aggression in Europe. In Stalin’s Failed Alliance, the sequel to Stalin’s Gamble, Michael Jabara Carley continues his re-evaluation of European diplomacy during the critical events between May 1936 and August 1939.

This narrative history examines the great crises of the pre-war period – the Spanish Civil War, Anschluss, and Munich accords – as well as both the last Soviet efforts to organize an anti-Nazi alliance in the spring–summer of 1939 and Moscow’s shocking volte-face, the signature of the Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact.

Yet Russia is still crushing nazis while other members of the USSR, namely Ukraine and the Baltics, are very clear about wishing they had fought on the other side.

I’ll take it if it leads to some kind of rapprochement between nuclear powers rather than the steady march towards nuclear destruction that the democrats seem intent on
